Regardless of the topic or our motives, we must resist the urge to say more than the Bible does. Creating extra “rules about the rules” is the slippery slope that eventually caused the Pharisees to murder Jesus.
We should not be afraid of pleasure. Joy and happiness were God’s idea. If anything, we should be aware of our tendency to be too easily pleased when God has even more in store for us.
