The God in a Crib

Words falter, tongues fail When trying to speak
of a love so immense And a gift so unique

The Ancient of Days takes his first breath? The heart of God beating in a babe’s chest?

A Crib among animals How could it be?
Held by his mother, the Maker of you and of me

Rejoice heart rejoice he
has come here for you

our hope is this child It is He
who will make all things new

You see, this God in a crib will go to a cross to take on our sin and secure victory’s cost

He will silence death’s roar and return for us all who’ve worshipped that Baby in the barn stall
